This business looks increasingly like a network of agents working through freight forwarding networks.The freight forwarder network has long been a force for good, particularly on the freight supply side. However, agents have been taking an increasing share of the freight volume in recent years. Many freight forwarders are just brokers for the agents, which we consider to be a backward step. IHS and Freight Forwarder Consultancy also argue that establishing a network of freight forwarders would be a positive step to help promote freight supply chains by bringing together freight forwarders with third-party freight network agents.
